PEFC Romania has announced the stunning winners of their 2020 photo contest, with the theme ‘Oamenii pădurilor, pădurile oamenilor’ (The people of the forests, the forests of the people).
The jury of professional photographers and representatives from PEFC Romania chose the three winners out of 195 photos that entered the contest.
The winning images show colourful forest paths and wildlife in Romania’s forests.
The winning images
Ana Pană came in first with her photo ‘Drumul dinspre lac’ (‘The road from the lake’), taken at Lake Cuejdel Neamt in Romania.
“I made a short trip with some photographer friends to Lake Cuejdel. I had wanted to go there for a long time,” she explains.
“It was November and the autumn colours on the lake had already gone. Instead, the fog in the forest and on the lake looked really beautiful.”
Second prize went to Vlad Ionescu for the photo ‘Armonie’ (‘Harmony’), taken on the road to Cheia, Romania.
“The road that winds like a river through the forest reminds us that we are passing through this world. But nature will be here long after we are gone.”
Gligor Andrei Lazăr came in third with the image ‘Creatura padurii’ (‘Creature of the Forest’), showing the silhouette of a deer in the forest of Faget, Romania.
