Join PEFC International CEO / Secretary General Dr Michael Berger in Australia and New Zealand
PEFC International CEO / Secretary General Dr Michael Berger will be visiting Australia and New Zealand in March and April of this year to engage with industry partners, key stakeholders, and certified organizations regarding sustainable forest management and chain of custody certification. This marks Michael’s first visit in his new role since being appointed as PEFC Secretary General/CEO as of 1 June 2022. During his visit, Michael will be conducting workshops, meetings, and discussing the latest updates and achievements of PEFC International, the world’s largest forest certification system.

Dr Berger has a wealth of experience in environmental and quality management, sustainable supply chain development, and management systems, with over twenty years of experience in these fields. Alongside Dr Berger, the Responsible Wood Team, Simon Dorries, Matt de Jongh, and Jonathan Tibbits will accompany him on his visits to Rotorua, Gisborne, Brisbane, Gympie, and Hobart. He will also visit key partners in Sydney before heading off to Japan following his Australia and New Zealand trip.
This visit presents an excellent opportunity to learn more about PEFC International and the various initiatives it has implemented around the world to promote sustainable forest management and certification. With the participation of Dr Berger and the Responsible Wood Team, workshop attendees will have a unique chance to gain insights and knowledge that can benefit their sustainable business practices.
