In order to mitigate our individual and collective environmental impact, it is crucial that we take action to address the global issue of human induced climate change. Paper and cardboard packaging plays a significant role in this effort. There is a growing demand for sustainable paper and packaging solutions that are renewable and recyclable. It is essential that we prioritise the use of certified paper and card products, as they offer an environmentally friendly alternative to non-renewable and controversial sources. By using certified paper and card products, we can help reduce our reliance on plastic and promote a more sustainable future for our planet. In this Meet Your Certified Supplier article we meet IVE Group, one company that is taking on the challenge of publicly committing to these sourcing practices, through independent, third-party chain of custody certification.
Sustainable thinking has become increasingly important across all aspects of our lives. The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) highlight the importance of taking action on climate change, and it is essential that businesses play their part in achieving these goals. IVE Group, a leading provider of communication solutions, is committed to sustainability across all aspects of their business. In addition to being certified for their sustainable paper products, they have also received accreditation for quality assurance, environmental management, data security, and ethical sourcing. Recently, Matt de Jongh, Responsible Wood’s Sustainability Manager, had the opportunity to visit their premises in Sydney and witness firsthand the positive impact of their sustainable practices. During his visit, Matt had the opportunity to talkabout the certification process and how IVE Group embeds sustainable sourcing processes throughout their business.
Matt highlighted the importance of certification and the role it plays in ensuring the sustainability of wood and paper products in Australia and around the world. Matt added, “Certification provides assurance that wood and paper products come from responsibly managed forests, which helps to protect biodiversity, support local communities, and provides positive outcomes for the environment. We can’t afford to have paper products sourced from forests that haven’t been protected, and aren’t managed effectively for the next generation.”
IVE Group’s commitment to sustainability is evident in their Responsible Wood chain of custody certification, which ensures that they source their paper products from sustainable, legal and ethical sources.
During the visit, Matt also witnessed other sustainable practices employed by IVE Group, such as their use of vegetable-based inks, the recycling of paper waste, and the installation of energy-efficient equipment. These practices help reduce the environmental impact of their operations and contribute to a more sustainable future. IVE Group continues to implement various environmental initiatives.
Waseem Khan, Compliance Manager of IVE Group, praised the company’s commitment to their certification and sustainability, stating, “Sustainability is at the core of our business operations, and we strive to reduce our impact on the environment while providing quality products and services to our clients.”
IVE Group’s comprehensive approach to sustainability demonstrates its commitment to reducing environmental impacts and promoting sustainable practices throughout its operations. As more businesses prioritise sustainability, we can work towards a more sustainable future for our planet.
