Congratulations to Lara Maeselle, winner of the Responsible Wood-sponsored ‘Certified Australian Timber’ category at the Timber Design Awards for the residential project ‘Nebraska’. The project was built with timber supplied by Responsible Wood Chain of Custody certification holders Britton Timbers (Tasmanian Oak) and Mortlock Timber (Spotted Gum).
The Nebraska residence, which also won the ‘Residential Class 1 – New Buildings’ category, exemplifies how certified Australian timber brings warmth, character and sustainability together responsibly in contemporary design.
Responsible Wood has proudly supported the Timber Design Awards for many years, celebrating excellence in the use of certified timber across Australia’s built environment. In sponsoring the ‘Certified Australian Timber’ category, we’re putting our name behind projects that not only inspire aesthetically but demonstrate leadership in sourcing responsibly managed timber.
While Nebraska took out the certified timber category, the real winner this year was certification itself. A number of other category winners and finalists across the Timber Design Awards 2025 program incorporated Responsible Wood-certified timber, including:
