Responsible Wood has been featured in the latest ‘Build IT’, which is now available at newsstands Australia wide…
With printed circulation numbering more than 10,000, ‘Build IT’ is an invaluable resource guide for environmentally consensus builders and renovators.
With demand for timber continuing to rise, specifically within the construction and building sector, the importance of ensuring that timber is sourced from a sustainable origin is critical.
According to Jason Ross, Responsible Wood’s Marketing and Communication Officer, Build IT is an important touch point to raise awareness of timber at its origin.
“Ultimately the sustainability of wood can only be verified through sustainable management of the forest, and monitored for conformity through the supply chain.”
“That’s what Responsible Wood is all about, we are a third party certification system, we manage a scheme; with independent certification bodies auditing our scheme holders to ensure they meet minimum benchmarks for practice.”
“Think of it like a quality management standard, when you see our ‘trust mark’, we provide builders, construction professionals and DIY’ers with peace of mind that environmental standards have been met,” Mr Ross said.
Celebrating their 20th year, Build IT allows Responsible Wood to target the construction and building sector directly.
“Built IT provide a Resource Guide for Builders and Renovators looking to source building materials for their next project.”
“They are a natural fit for Responsible Wood, they present options for builders and we can demonstrate the conformity of the timber to environmental standards.”
“The catch cry for timber in Australia is Make It Wood, Responsible Wood is all about ensuring that the Wood is Certified and has a positive impact for the environment,” Mr Ross said.
Responsible Wood has been invited to feature in the next Build IT, scheduled for release at the Sydney Build Expo in March 2019.
“The Sydney Building Expo is the largest expo of its type in Australia. As the only forest certification scheme that meets an Australian Standard, Responsible Wood is the only certification scheme that can verify the source of origin for a number of timber types that are commonly used for architectural application,” Mr Ross said.
