‘Special 2019/20 Australian bushfire coverage headlines Summer Bulletin’
BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA – 20/02/2020
To all firefighters, the emergency services and many thousands of volunteers involved in the Australian bushfire season, thank you…
‘The latest edition of the Bulletin, a special 20 page stretch edition, features a collection of stories from the front line, written at the time of the bushfires from those affected by the bushfires,’ Mr Jason Ross Marketing and Communications Officer for Responsible Wood said, reflecting on what has been a trying time for all.
In addition, the Bulletin covers the PEFC General Assembly in Wurzburg, Germany where the international PEFC family gathered to celebrate the 20th year of the world’s largest forest certification scheme.

‘The 2019 General Assembly recognised an important milestone for Responsible Wood and PEFC Australia, in addition to celebrating the 20th anniversary of PEFC, Responsible Wood was recognised for growing the PEFC certified forest area in Australia,’ Mr Ross said.
Responsible Wood and PEFC certification is being embraced by building specifiers using responsibly sourced timber on construction projects.
‘The Bulletin features a number of case studies, including the critically acclaimed Mount Mulligan Lodge, Pingelly Recreation and Culture Centre and Portsea Surf Life Saving Club, all examples of projects embracing forest certification in material selection,’ Mr Ross said.
The cover story tells of UQ Student Architect Monique Pousson, who has embraced forest certification in designing a long span timber roof.
‘The structure is impressive, and for Responsible Wood, the readiness of the next generation of specifiers and designers to embrace forest certification is extremely positive,’ Mr Ross said.
