Responsible Wood and PEFC Australia & New Zealand have launched a new stakeholder survey as part of a broader Landscape Scan of the forest certification ecosystem across the region. This is your opportunity to contribute valuable insights that will guide the future direction of sustainable forest management and chain of custody certification.
Whether you’re a member, certificate holder, policymaker, forest manager, NGO, First Nations representative, scientist, or industry stakeholder, your feedback matters.
This short survey (approximately 5–7 minutes) aims to better understand the current landscape of certification, including the key drivers, challenges, and opportunities that influence how certification supports sustainable practices from the forest to the final product.
By taking part, you’ll be helping Responsible Wood and PEFC improve how certification works in practice, ensuring it continues to deliver meaningful value across the supply chain.
Your responses will help us:
- Identify the barriers to greater uptake of certification
- Understand what aspects of certification are most valuable to different stakeholder groups
- Inform future standards development and system improvements
- Ensure that certification aligns with evolving environmental, social, and market expectations.
All responses are anonymous and confidential, and results will only be reported in aggregate.
Expressions of Interest Now Open: Standards Development Committees

We are seeking a diverse range of stakeholders, including:
- Forest growers and landowners
- First Nations representatives
- Environmental NGOs
- Scientists and academics
- Industry professionals
- Local government and community groups.
These committees will help shape the future of the Responsible Wood Standard, which underpins PEFC-endorsed forest certification in Australia and New Zealand.
